Ballin’ Academy is a locally run interactive work opportunity by Lockhat Incorporated that takes place every Summer.
The Ballin’ Academy runs over 4 days. Kicking off from 2 December 2024 to 3 December 2024 and then 20 January 2025 to 21 January 2025, with an action-packed daily schedule kicking off bright and early at Lockhat Incorporated’s offices.
It’s aimed at young and determined individuals who are ready to work and hustle, and planning to study towards a SAICA-accredited degree.
Why it’s for you
The Ballin’ Academy gives you real work experience in a real environment. It features a four-day schedule that includes:
- An induction into our administrative processes, giving you a leg up in the industry
- An on-the-job toolkit , with practical exposure to the workplace
- Real examples of day-to-day tasks
- Case studies of successful businesses, providing you with a competitive workplace advantage
- Exposure to what the work and social life of a Lockhat Inc. employee looks like
- Feedback from our Alumni, so you can see how they are ballin’
- Spot prizes and rewards
- Auditing Escape Room: Solve financial puzzles and work with your team to complete an audit. It’s a fun, hands-on way to sharpen your auditing skills while learning in an exciting, interactive format
- Taxation TikTok: Learn tax tips in quick, TikTok-style videos. These bite-sized lessons will show you how small tricks can lead to big savings, making tax fun and easy to grasp
- Accountants vs. AI: Join the debate and explore how AI is transforming accounting while discovering why there’s still plenty of room for human expertise

- Moola of R1750 or part thereof (based on attendance) for the duration of the academy, unless you decline our employment (t’s and c’s apply)
- Lunch and refreshments to be provided every day
- Successful ballers will be interviewed further with a potential training contract up-for-grabs

- Other candidates, presently studying towards or in possession of a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting qualification will be welcomed

The Academy will provide successful candidates with feedback by no later than 30 November 2024.
